2011 Summer Camp Session

Camp Group 2003

Spend the Entire day devoted to horses! In addition to your one hour lesson, you will spend time learning about your equine friends inside and out. Camp runs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The camp program will be specific to your level of riding. If you have never ridden before you will be assigned one of our "experienced school masters" who are adaptable and patient with beginners. For more advanced students who are jumping and have the desire to go into the show ring we will work on braiding, show prep and expectations in the show ring ie. "what is the judge looking for?" You will also be introduced into course design, striding as well as elements of a "good trip"

All theory will be taught in a classroom setting.

Nutrition, breeds, history of the horse, stable management and basic horse health are all taught in a fun fashion.

Riding lessons are taught in small groups to maximize learning.

Every Friday is show day, family and friends are welcome and encouraged to join in on the festivities. Campers will be given an opportunity to demonstrate what they have worked on through the week.

Supervised Swim: "The Cool Pool" at the house. All students are allowed to use the cool above ground pool after their ride for a refreshing dip. Counsellors are in full attendance!

If you have other questions please feel free to call me at the farm.
