What is Part Boarding? |
Part boarding is when a horse owner shares the time and the expense of keeping a horse with another individual(the Part Boarder). Generally both the owner and the part boarder divide the riding time equally so each person gets equal days of riding. |
The part boarder pays half the board and sometimes half the shoeing and vet but that is up to the individuals to arrange between them. |
Where can I find a horse to part board? |
First check around at the stables in your area. There may be a suitable horse available at one of theses facilities. Sometimes barn that do lessons also part board some of their school horses. |
Have a look at the bulletin boards at your local tack shop or feed store, sometimes people post their ads there. Also there are usually ads for part board in the Horse magazines such as Horse Sport or "The Rider" Above all try to find a horse that suits your needs.
